Supervision

Regular supervision for both trainee counsellors and experienced practitioners are an essential requirement for therapeutic work with clients and provides a space for practitioners to work as effectively, safely and ethically as possible (BACP, 2018).

I provide supervision in accordance with the BACP ethical framework for good practice in counselling and psychotherapy.

I offer both individual and group supervision:

• I offer supervision to trainees.

• I offer supervision to counsellors who are in the process of or who have recently set up private practice.

• I offer supervision to experienced practitioners.

• I have offered clinical supervision to a variety of organisations/agencies, which include the City Literary Institute (known as ‘City Lit’) an Adult Education College.

• I offer individual and group supervision in my private practice.

• I work with supervisees from various theoretical models and can provide supervision that best meets the needs and orientation of each supervisee.

• I supervise school mentors, placement counsellors and counselling course tutors.

• I currently offer group and individual supervision at the following organisations:

        • RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts)

        • Woman’s Trust (supporting women in London affected by
domestic violence and abuse), providing group supervision
        to voluntary counsellors.

        • The Advocacy Academy - a Social Justice Youth Organising
         Movement for young people

        • Camden Safety Net - for domestic abuse and sexual violence
        support and advice

        • Inquest - provides advice to bereaved people following a
death in state care or custody in England and Wales

        • Stonewall “We stand for lesbian, gay, bi, trans, queer,
questioning and ace (LGBTQ+) people everywhere”

My supervision practice includes working with domestic violence, survivors of childhood sexual abuse, trauma, sexuality, cultural identity, race and mental health issues.

My approach

I work from a person-centred perspective and my approach to supervision is relational. You can expect an empathic relationship that is authentic and accepting as well as an appropriate level of challenge. I am mindful of a supervisee’s level of experience and development and will work with you at that level. For example trainee counsellors will have different needs from experienced counsellors. I am also open to working creatively using a range of art materials, toys picture cards etc. The space I offer values, creativity, difference, diversity, vulnerability, presence, ruptures and collaborative repair.

In a safe and co-created relationship, I believe a supervisee can:
